Projects

Industrial Hoists worked on the Ft Richardson Army Base to upgrade three cab operated cranes. These cranes were first manufactured in the mid-1940s, and they were due for an upgrade. Industrial Hoists design engineered and integrated radio remote systems. These systems were not possible when the cranes were first installed. With this upgrade, the main electrification was removed and replaced with up-to-date 4 bar electrification. This made it possible for radio remote installation to increase the safety of operator and ground personnel. The original braking systems for the three cranes were also upgraded with an electric/hydraulic brake system.
Industrial Hoist, LLC went to Homer, Alaska to upgrade cab controls, hoisting and traveling systems to use remote controls at the Bradley Lake Hydro Power Plant. The project entailed removing and replacing brakes on the main and aux hoists. The main and bridge motors were also removed and replaced. This involved removing unnecessary wiring and rewiring the motors.
Industrial Hoist, LLC engineered, supplied, managed installation and commission went to a three-ton and ten-ton overhead bridge cranes in Seward, Alaska at the AVTEC Heavy Equipment training facility. We worked alongside with a General Contractor on a design build to insure a low cost application for the overhead crane systems. After the installation of both cranes, we educated assembly and installation crews and project superintendents on CMAA standards. After educating, we test ran both cranes and trained all operators.
Industrial Hoists, LLC went to the UAA Engineering Training Facility in Anchorage to supply a very custom designed ten-ton overhead crane including, installation, testing and commissioning. We worked to completely assemble the crane package at the facility. We utilized laser alignment and leveling equipment to insure the runway rails were installed to CMAA standards. Industrial Hoists also installed a 4-bar main power electrification system and installed and adjusted all limit switches for the crane. After the installation, Industrial Hoists completed a load test at 125% of the 10-ton capacity of the crane. When all testing was completed, we train UAA staff on proper operations and pre-operation inspections.
